1. What is a notary public?
A notary public is an official who verifies identities and witnesses the signing of important documents to prevent fraud.

2. What documents can be notarized?
We notarize affidavits, powers of attorney, wills, real estate documents, contracts, loan papers, and more.

3. What do I need to bring?
Bring the document(s) and a valid photo ID. If witnesses are required, they must be present.

IDs authorized are:

  • State driver's license and official non-driver's IDs
  • U.S. passports and U.S. military IDs
  • IDs as well as resident alien IDs, including green cards, that the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services have issued

IDs are deemed valid if they have the following:

  • A photograph
  • A physical description
  • A signature of the bearer. Note that most government-issued IDs have all three components.

4. Can a notary give legal advice?
No, notaries cannot offer legal advice or assist in filling out documents.

5. How much does it cost?
Fees vary by service. Please contact us for specific pricing.

6. Do I need an appointment?
Appointments are recommended, but we accept walk-ins if available.

7. Can you notarize documents in other languages?
Yes, as long as the notary and signer understand each other and the document is complete.

8. Can a notary refuse to notarize?
Yes, if the signer lacks proper ID, the document is incomplete, or fraud is suspected.

9. What if there’s a mistake on my document?
Correct any errors before notarization; otherwise, a new document may be required.

10. Do you offer electronic notarization?

11. Do you offer mobile services?
Yes, we offer mobile notary services. Travel fees apply.

12. What’s the difference between an acknowledgment and a jurat?

  • Acknowledgment: Signer verifies their signature.
  • Jurat: Signer swears to the truth of the document and signs in the notary’s presence.

13. How do I prepare for remote notarization?
You’ll need a computer with a webcam, a stable internet connection, a valid ID, and a digital document. Contact us for more info.

Refund/Return Policy

At Dotted Line Notary, we strive to provide exceptional notary services. However, we understand that there may be instances where our services did not meet your expectations. This policy outlines the circumstances under which we can offer a return or a refund.

1. Refund Eligibility: Refunds are only possible under the following conditions:

  • Clerical Errors: If there is a clerical error made by our notary (e.g., incorrect date, misspelled name, etc.), we will offer a correction at no additional charge. If a correction is not feasible, a full refund will be provided.
  • Service Not Rendered: If you have paid for a service that was not performed due to our error or inability to provide the service, a full refund will be issued.


2. Non-Refundable Circumstances: The nature of notary services typically makes them non-refundable, especially in cases such as:

  • Client Error: If the error is due to incorrect or incomplete information provided by the client, refunds will not be issued.
  • Change of Mind: Services rendered cannot be refunded due to a change of mind or circumstance after the notarization is complete.


3. Procedure for Requesting a Refund: To request a refund, clients must contact us within 24 hours of the service date. Provide a detailed explanation of the issue and any relevant documentation. Refund requests will be reviewed, and we will respond within 2 business days.

4. Refund Processing: Approved refunds will be processed to the original payment method within [3 business days]. We will notify you once the refund has been processed.

5. Limitation of Liability: Our liability in the event of an error is limited to the cost of the service provided.

6. Amendments: This policy may be amended from time to time in accordance with changes in regulations and our business practices
